What? He failed you? I would have given you at least more credit than failing if you didn't follow instruction... Actually I'd give you full credit for this brilliant piece.

I can't believe he failed you! This is way better than a lot college art students I've seen, so I can't wrap my head around it all. What a douchebag that teacher was..

What I think of your teacher: [link]

How could they let someone like you fail? Your painting seems very realistic, in terms of proportions and light source and color, and then you say you turned all your assignments in in time . . . I think you're right; that's just a personal vendetta against you. :no:

Art education is a joke. All teachers are doing is checking a load of boxes that NOBODY ELSE CARES ABOUT! The art doesn't matter, just the little 'list' that the teachers must stick to when marking. And most of those 'little boxes' are even less important to portrait artists. It's a total joke.

This painting is GORGEOUS! Did you use some special medium with the paint, or are you just a genius? lol I'm just wondering how you got that beautiful smooth forehead highlight with ACRYLIC

Dont be afraid to let it dry then paint over, then paint over, and over and over to get it right :)
the edges of a figure make the shapes pop, so the perfect curve or line sometimes requires a few tries!

You know, I've heard so many stories about art teachers failing really talented artists in their classes and it's such bull. This painting is really good, great use of colors, they blend well together, the proportions are good. It's very smooth and emotive as well. I think it's great and he's an idiot for failing you. Keep up the good work! :)

Thankyou!!!! I was considering taking this one down , the more i look at it the more displeased i am with it, but then again that is an artists curse, dissatisfaction with their works lol

Thankyou muchly! *nods* I think he disliked my use of black paint, we were forbidden from using it and told to mix our own using various other colors.... *sigh* there comes a time for an artist when inspiration hits, one does not have time to sit around mixing colors! ^_^

:D hehe, traditional painting is more difficult(and expensive) than digital one, and a mistake can be fatal! so I think traditional artists are more skilled than digital ones.
keep ut the good work!

Fractured my tailbone once and bruised it I CAN'T COUNT how many times. Wrecked the alignment of my spinal column and now I sit crooked. Sometimes I even need to carry around a little donut pillow so I don't do any more damage >>;;;
